All Caught Up
An "all caught up" notifications empty state: a sleeping bell sways with floating z letters, a reassuring message and a digest setting; a button simulates new notifications, the bell wakes up ringing and the list replaces the empty state.
No dependency: paste the HTML into your page, the CSS into your stylesheet, and the JavaScript into a function that receives the parent element (root).
